In recognition of National Baby Safety Month in September, Fort Bend County Libraries will present a special program for new or expectant parents or infant caregivers, “Well Baby and Prenatal Care: The Top 10 Things a Pediatrician Wants You to Know,” on Wednesday, September 13, beginning at 6:30 pm, in the Meeting Room at George Memorial Library, 1001 Golfview in Richmond.

Dr. Erica Wang, a pediatrician with Texas Children’s Pediatrics, will share tips on how to care for a newborn baby, from caring for the umbilical cord, to developing feeding schedules and understanding the meaning of an infant’s sneezes and hiccups. Learn about newborn hygiene, nutrition, and safety, as well as what to expect after a baby’s birth in the hospital.

Dr. Wang is a graduate of Rice University and Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call George Memorial Library at 281-342-4455 or the library system’s Public Information Office at 281-633-4734.
